Street Action “Every Step Was a Risk” Marks the 33rd Anniversary of the Siege of Sarajevo in Belgrade

On Friday, April 4, 2025, the Youth Initiative for Human Rights (YIHR) unveiled an artistic-activist installation titled ā€œEvery Step Was a Riskā€ on Čika Ljubina Street in Belgrade. The installation was created to mark the 33rd anniversary of the start of the Siege of Sarajevo and is dedicated to all the victims of the war in Sarajevo from 1992 to 1996, regardless of their ethnic, national, or religious background.

Cultural Institution Ćuprija to Cancel the Competition for Creating a Mural of War Criminal NebojÅ”a Pavković

The Youth Initiative for Human Rights (YIHR) is calling on the Cultural Institution Ćuprija to annul the competition and the decision regarding the selected design for the mural in the center of Ćuprija in Serbia, dedicated to NebojÅ”a Pavković, a convicted for war crimes in Kosovo. Due to the responsibility for publishing the competition, we also demand the dismissal of Stefan Stamenković, the director of this institution. The competition for a mural dedicated to Pavković represents an institutionalized practice of denying the war crimes for which he was convicted.
