The Youth Initiative for Human Rights in Serbia and the Youth Initiative for Human Rights in Kosovo organized a workshop on storytelling, dealing with the past, intercultural dialogue and reconciliation for young people from Serbia and Kosovo called “Stories That Stay”, from March 28 to April 2, 2026 in Pristina.

Violence during voting day on local elections in Serbia must be severely punished
Youth Initiative for Human Rights demands from the relevant prosecutor’s offices the immediate prosecution of all attacks on journalists, election observers, political actors and citizens that occurred in several municipalities in Serbia, where local elections were held on March 29, 2026. Due to the failure of the police to prevent violence and arrest the perpetrators, we demand an urgent session of the Internal Affairs Committee of the National Assembly of Serbia, where the work of the police during the election day will be discussed.

YIHR held a roundtable on improving the reconciliation process within the Berlin Process
The Youth Initiative for Human Rights gathered 10 representatives of civil society organizations, victims’ associations, and institutions at a roundtable held on March 18, 2026, in Belgrade. The meeting discussed the implementation of recommendations for improving the reconciliation process that were developed during the Berlin Process Civil Society Forum 2025.

Attack by Narodne Patrole on YIHR Offices a Result of Impunity for Violence and Denial of Crimes
During the night between March 15 and 16, the far-right group Narodne patrole once again targeted the premises of the Youth Initiative for Human Rights (YIHR). Members of the group pasted multiple posters denying the genocide in Srebrenica, as well as denying the Jewish and Roma victims of genocide in the Independent State of Croatia (NDH). This marks the third attack by Narodne Patrole on YIHR in the past three years. Another target of Narodne Patrole were the premises of the Movement of Free Citizens (PSG) in Belgrade.
