We are pleased to present our 2025 Annual Report!
The report provides a comprehensive overview of our work across our three core programs: Democratization, Human Rights, and Transitional Justice. It highlights the wide range of activities we carried out over the past year, including campaigns, advocacy initiatives, conferences, and public statements.
Through our 21 programs, nearly 850 new young people became involved in our activities. Our work was featured in the media almost 700 times. At the same time, the past year was marked by the growing number of people forced into exile abroad because of their activism. Among them are two activists from the Youth Initiative for Human Rights, Mila Pajić and Doroteja Antić.
Defending media freedom was another key focus throughout the year. The Initiative submitted complaints to numerous regulatory bodies and competent authorities in the United Kingdom, calling for an urgent response to allegations that the British investment firm BC Partners was involved in undermining media freedom in Serbia.
The Initiative also marked the 30th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide. Together with our partners, we participated in the commemoration of the International Day of Reflection and Commemoration of the 1995 Genocide in Srebrenica under the slogan “People Remember People.” The Mirëdita, dobar dan! Festival was held in Pristina, continuing cultural cooperation and exchange between Serbia and Kosovo.
Despite all the challenges of the past year—including escalating violence and increasing pressure—the Initiative remained committed to the same values and principles it has upheld since its founding. This report serves as a reminder of what is possible when we stand together and raise our voices in the fight for peace and human rights.
Once again, we thank everyone who supported our work, took part in our programs and activities, and shared this struggle with us.
