This unique gathering brought together young artists and cultural professionals from Kosovo and Serbia, providing a platform to delve into the complexities of their shared history and its influence on their artistic practices. Under the guidance of expert Andrej Nosov, participants engaged in critical discussions centered on the intricate dynamics of Kosovo-Serbia relations.
The workshop concluded with a collaborative effort to create a multimedia peace project designed to promote cultural cooperation between the two regions. Participants took part in a documentary highlighting cultural exchange and collaboration between the two countries. They were also encouraged to initiate their own collective artistic projects, as well as to develop individual projects that reflect the theme. This approach aimed to foster deeper understanding and dialogue through art.
Aside from the workshop, the participants also had the chance to participate in a “world café” discussion titled “Open the Door with Culture” whereby critical discussions centered on the topics of peace-building, peace-making and conflict prevention through the arts occurred. The discussions were moderated by the YIHR team.
This program highlights the vital role of cultural exchange in promoting peace and reconciliation in a region marked by historical tensions.
The project is financed by the European Union.
