Regional Network of the Youth Initiative for Human Rights with its offices in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro and Serbia is dedicated to the establishment of an official mechanism for interethnic and cross-border youth exchanges in the Western Balkans region. YIHR believes that such a mechanism should be established and funded by the governments in Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, Kosovo, Macedonia and Albania.
Youth Initiative for Human Rights organized a protest named: “INVESTIGATION, NOT A DECORATION!” regarding the Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces Ljubiša Diković being awarded decoration, which occurred on Sunday, February 15th in Pionirski park.
At a meeting held at the beginning of January with the Vice President of the Government of Montenegro Rafet Husović, the regional network of Youth Initiative for Human Rights presented an initiative for institutionalizing a youth exchange program in the countries of Western Balkan.
Youth Initiative for Human Rights (hereinafter YIHR) delivered the copy of the OSCE report “Kosovo: As Seen, As Told” to the Prime Minister and Ministers of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and addressed them the following letter:
Those who were killed in Paris were like us: Some were simple citizens who were killed because they were Jewish. Others were fighting for the liberty of expression. They were anti-racist militants, friendly comrades present during our efforts to establish a more just society, free from racism, anti-Semitism and obscurantism. Among the fallen, there were also police offices, who were charged with the duty of protecting the Charlie Hebdo journalists.
