Members of the Women in Black network in the premises of Endžio HAB, together with young activists and alumni of the Youth Initiative for Human Rights in Serbia, held a meeting in Belgrade on July 10 2025 on the topic “Transgenerational Dialogue in Serbia – Defending the Memory”.

The meeting was attended by 19 members of Women in Black from different parts of Serbia who spoke with young activists about their experiences and difficulties in organizing and implementing alternative commemorations dedicated to the victims of war crimes. 

After the meeting, members of Women in Black together with activists of the Youth Initiative for Human Rights watched the film “Samir Mehić Bouwie – Letters from Srebrenica” produced by BIRN Bosnia and Herzegovina.

That same evening, YIHR activists joined the Women in Black street action as an example of transgenerational memory activism. At the street action called “Serbia, look in the mirror: you will see Srebrenica!” 30 years – 30 mirrors” gathered 50 activists of different ages from different parts of Serbia who pointed out the frequency of denial of the Srebrenica genocide by the authorities in Serbia.
