Young people from Kosovo and Serbia, who have previously been involved in at least one of YIHR’s activities on the national or regional level, are invited to apply for a Workshop “YIHR Alumni Network Reunion – Kosovo and Serbia”, to discuss and rethink the current activities and practices that aim to intensify collaboration among young people and to boost peacebuilding between Serbia and Kosovo.
The five-day workshop will be organised in Belgrade from the 25th of May to the 29th of May, during the Miredita, Dobar dan! Festival. The workshop will consist of lectures, discussions and brainstorming sessions where participants who already have participated in some of the YIHR’s programmes will provide their unique feedback of the programmes and activities designed to create links among young people in Kosovo and Serbia. Moreover, participants will also have an opportunity to reflect on the power of individuals who have overcome the existing gaps and their contribution to the reconciliation process.
Participants with different educational and professional backgrounds will be empowered to offer possible solutions from their own experience on how to more effectively involve and encourage the processes of overcoming the existing divisions and tensions that are causing fear and prevent cooperation from inesifying.
The workshop will result in a document based on the joint efforts of all participants to provide civil society and other relevant stakeholders with a clear indication of what has to change and what needs to be done so transitional justice considerations can have a broader impact. The results of the workshop aim to strategise how the YIHR alumni could contribute to promoting peace and reconciliation within their respective professional spheres.
The workshop is being organised with the support of the Peaceful Change Initiative. All costs for attending the workshop in Belgrade will be covered by the organizers.
Deadline for applications is May 10, 2022.
