This way, the event stands against xenophobia, homophobia and racism in NGOs and local communities through creation of inclusive environments and respect of all peoples human rights.
The conference involves three (3) panels which will offer various perspectives to different questions such: What are the democratic mechanisms that can support volunteering as a tool to build more inclusive societies and enable access to rights? What are the challenges and who bears the responsibility in today’s volunteering trends? What are the stories of global volunteers? What action have they been participating in? What changes and challenges volunteering brought to people’s lives?
You can register for the conference by filling out the form.
Agenda:
November 16, 2021, 12:30 – Volunteering for Inclusiveness
Global cooperation of volunteer organizations brought together many opportunities for young people all over the world. The European network of volunteer organisations for decades now have been promoting inclusiveness, solidarity and cooperation while shedding light on specific issues as part of the volunteering causes.
November 16, 2021, 18:00 – There is no I in volunteer
For centuries people have been sharing stories as a, social and cultural means of sharing and preserving values, hence the personal angle of volunteering has its own specific merit. People w
who have experienced volunteering practices both mid and long-term have testified that those experiences changed their lives or at least created significant memories that will last forever. Hearing stories of volunteers from all over the world has an enormous motivational effect as well, as it provides today’s activists with a possible idea for tomorrow’s volunteering.
November 17, 2021, 10:00 – The Future of the (Inclusive) Volunteering
We will present the summary of recommendations on how volunteering could be (even) more accessible and inclusive. We will present and use those recommendations in the process of the Conference on The Future of Europe. The presentation of recommendations will be followed by a discussion with the decision-makers about the possibilities of their implementation and an open discussion with the participants.
Working language will be English.
The conference DEAR FUTURE VOLUNTEERS is a part of the project “Volunteering as a tool for inclusive society” supported through the Europe for Citizens programme which aims to build intercultural understanding and solidarity through activities engaging local communities into practices of inclusive volunteerism.
The conference is organized by Youth Initiative for Human Rights (Serbia) in cooperation with Pride Parade Association (Slovenia), Loesje (Germany), INAR (Ireland), and Youth Initiative for Human Rights (Croatia).
Deadline for applications: Nov 10, 2021
