Unpacking the Peace Perspectives at the “What Is Peace For Us” Conference
The Youth Initiative for Human Rights celebrated 20 years of youth empowerment on November 16th, with the “What Is Peace For Us,” conference bringing together 70 youth activists and civil society leaders from the whole region, as well as representatives of the EU delegation from Serbia. The day was highlighted by three panels that addressed truth, reconciliation, and peace in the region: “Navigating the New Regional Context”, “Strengthening and Enhancing EU Perspective: Lessons Learned,” and “New Wave of Solidarity – Retrospective Through Injustice, Fear and Success”.

The exhibition “Imagine the Change” brings a different story about the youth in the region
The exhibition “Imagine the Change” opened on November 15th at the Endžio Hub, during the week celebrating the twentieth anniversary of the Youth Initiative for Human Rights (YIHR). The exhibition will be open until December 8th, and all interested visitors can attend on weekdays from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

European Commission Publishes Report on Serbia for 2023
The European Commission’s 2023 Report on Serbia, published on November 8, provides a comprehensive overview of the country’s progress in accession negotiations with the EU, covering the period from June 2022 to June 2023. Notably, 22 out of 35 report chapters have been opened, showcasing advancements in various clusters.

At least 3 370 Albanians from the Preševo Valley were deleted from the voter list
On October 23, the Youth Initiative for Human Rights (YIHR) presented a report entitled “Passivization of addresses of Albanians in the Preševo Valley as a discriminatory practice” at the “Envoy” conference center in Belgrade. The authors of the report, Marko Milosavljević, head of research and advocacy at YIHR Serbia, and dr. Miloš Rašić, PhD in ethnology, as well as Relja Pantić, Head of the Complaint Department in the professional service of the Commissioner for Protection of Equality, spoke at the promotion.
