Today, the defense attorneys representing the activists from Novi Sad received an official order from the Higher Court in Novi Sad stating that the main hearing scheduled for Friday, 4 September, has been adjourned until 30 October at 9:30 a.m.
The order signed by the presiding judge, Vladimir Pecovski, cites reasons of procedural economy and expediency as the grounds for postponing the trial.
The Youth Initiative expresses concern that postponing such an important trial until a period following the announced elections, which have not yet been officially called, contributes to further deepening legal uncertainty in the country.
