After the abduction, they took all 20 passengers to the school in Prelovo (Vi\u0161egrad municipality, Bosnia and Herzegovina), where they were stripped naked, robbed and beaten. Than the same group took the abducted people to a house in the nearby village of Mu\u0161i\u0107i, where they were killed. The last stop for these twenty passengers was the Drina River, in which their bodies were thrown.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mitra\u0161in Gli\u0161i\u0107 was supposed to testify at this hearing. However, the hearing was postponed because Neboj\u0161a Perovi\u0107, Du\u0161ko Vasiljevi\u0107\u2019s defence counsel failed to appear. Mitra\u0161in Gli\u0161i\u0107 was brought from Bosnia and Herzegovina to Belgrade by the witness protection unit. He was a cook at the primary school in Prelovo, where the passengers from the train 671 at the Belgrade-Bar railway were imprisoned, beaten and robbed, which was confirmed by witnesses Dragoljub \u010cariki\u0107 and Milan Ili\u0107, members of the First Troop of the Vi\u0161egrad Brigade of the Republic of Srpska Army based in Prelovo at the time confirmed at the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">hearing of November 25 2019<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After 10-minute recess, Presiding Judge Vera Vukovi\u0107 fined the defence counsel Perovi\u0107 for failing to timely notify the court. She first asked the defendant Vasiljevi\u0107 to call Perovi\u0107 during the recess, but Vasiljevi\u0107 said that his phone was switched off.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nail Kajevi\u0107, brother of abducted Nijazim Kajevi\u0107, whose remains are still missing, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">said<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> last Thursday, on the anniversary of the \u0160trpci abduction, that he expected the trial to continue (March 2) because of Gli\u0161i\u0107\u2019s testifying. Nail Kajevi\u0107 reminded that Gli\u0161i\u0107 was ordered by Milan Luki\u0107 to clean up the hall of the Primary School Prelovo after torturing, robbing and taking the abducted passengers to the place of execution. However, the hearing was postponed to March 30, due to the absence of defence counsel Perovi\u0107. This is the fifth postponed hearing out of 15 scheduled.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The fact that defence counsel Perovi\u0107 appeared in front of the Higher Court at 29 Ustani\u010dka Street only a few minutes after the end of postponed hearing and turned to and laughed at Selma Memovi\u0107-\u010colovi\u0107, daughter of abducted Fikret Memovi\u0107, speaks of coordinated obstruction of the trial in the \u0160trpci case.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Perovi\u0107 was additionally rude and, standing in front of the court building, he <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">gave a statement<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Danas<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> daily that he was late because of the traffic jam and that he would appeal the RSD 50,000 fine. Such behaviour of defence counsel Perovi\u0107 as well as a mild reaction of the Presiding Judge to his violations, in spite of fining him, only deepens the suffering of victims\u2019 families and signals the witnesses that it may be better for them to keep quiet.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The next hearing is scheduled on March 30 at 9:30, 29 Ustani\u010dka Street.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The fifteenth hearing for the kidnapping in \u0160trpci is scheduled for today (March 2 2020) before the Higher Court, War Crimes Department.
