{"id":8461,"date":"2018-04-17T18:56:08","date_gmt":"2018-04-17T17:56:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/yihr.rs\/?p=8461"},"modified":"2020-02-11T18:56:21","modified_gmt":"2020-02-11T17:56:21","slug":"media-release-carry-seselj-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yihr.rs\/en\/media-release-carry-seselj-out\/","title":{"rendered":"Media Release: Carry \u0160e\u0161elj Out"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As YIHR <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">communicated a week ago<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, since Vojislav \u0160e\u0161elj is sentenced to 10 years in prison and since all judgments of the Appeals Chamber of the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals (IRMCT) are binding for the Republic of Serbia, Vojislav \u0160e\u0161elj\u2019s term as MP must be revoked.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>After today\u2019s threats and brutal insults of DS MP Aleksandra Jerkov by Radical MPs, we demand that the violent and abusive behavior at the National Assembly of Serbia is punished and that the National Assembly initiates, through its competent bodies, a procedure of stripping the convicted war criminal Vojislav \u0160e\u0161elj of his term as MP. Today\u2019s attack is yet another confirmation that the politics of crime does not know argumentation and facts, but threats and violence as the only political means.&nbsp;<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our obligation is to secure peace for future generation and to fight so that the politics of crime is never again present either in the National Assembly or in the Government of Serbia. The first step in that sense must be lustration of persons convicted for war crimes. In the past few decades, \u0160e\u0161elj was expelled for breaching parliamentary discipline several times.
