In August 2023, the Youth Initiative for Human Rights conducted a survey on the opinions of young people in Serbia on the wars of the 1990s in cooperation with the public opinion research agency SmartPlus. The aim of this survey is to examine young people’s knowledge about the wars in the former Yugoslavia, their actors and perpetrators of war crimes, as well as their attitude towards the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, the NATO bombing campaign, Kosovo and dealing with the past issues. The author of the research report is Dr. Rodoljub Jovanovi\u0107, a psychologist.<\/p>\n

In the last few years, there has been a significant increase in the denial and revision of facts about the crimes committed during these wars in various social practices, such as media reporting on the wars of the 1990s, war crimes commemorations, political campaigns, political engagement of convicted war criminals, and the broader politics of remembrance of the wars of the 1990s.<\/p>\n
