Furthermore, Dr. Krasniqi admired how&nbsp;<em>Memory Activism and Digital Practices After Conflict&nbsp;<\/em>demonstrates that \u201cfragmented memory offers opportunities for emancipatory peace,\u201d therefore suggesting hope even in fragmentation.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Spasi\u0107 emphasized the memory of activism as a crucial aspect of \u2018memory activism,\u2019 as it allows generations of activists to build off one another. She referred to Dr. Fridman\u2019s book as \u201can incentive to reflect further,\u201d and asserted that it will solidify itself as part of the foundational scholarship.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Lon\u010dar praised&nbsp;<em>Memory Activism and Digital Practices After Conflict<\/em>&nbsp;for giving a voice to civil society in the Western Balkans, especially youth activists, and for its local rather than international perspective. She emphasized the importance of focusing on unity and solidarity between movements rather than division and criticism.<\/p>\n<p>Milosavljevi\u0107 applauded the book for breaking out of the pervasive ethnocentric victimhood framework. He also talked about Dr. Fridman\u2019s discourse on #hashtag #memoryactivism, and how digital and physical activism must work together. Furthermore, Milosavljevic emphasized the importance of understanding \u201cthe position from others\u201d outside of activist work and how they view certain activism, in order to better appeal to them and change their perspectives.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Fridman then answered questions from the audience about digital activism, successful examples of memory activism. At the end of the hour, Orli received a loud round of applause and thanked everyone for being there to celebrate her new book, the product of almost two decades of her research and work.<\/p>\n<p>The discussion organized jointly by the Faculty of Media and Communications and YIHR Serbia about Dr. Fridmann\u2019s book&nbsp;<em>Memory Activism and Digital Practices after Conflict<\/em>&nbsp;is part of the project \u201cAdvocacy, Artivism and Education to End &nbsp;Genocide Denial and Strengthen Reconciliation Process\u201d. The project is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany.
